DarkCon 2014 has many groups and individuals that help us to put on a great convention.
Here is further info on some of those helpful people.
The Dark Ones Website / Facebook
DarkCon is sponsored by the Dark Ones Inc., a Phoenix-based 501(c)10 organization that has been organizing conventions and other large events for over two decades. Making everyone feel comfortable and included is very important to DarkCon. We have settled on an every-other-year schedule, helping to keep each event uniquely focused. The 2012 convention had a horror and steampunk theme with over 650 attendees. Our 2014 convention will be primarily themed around the worlds of dark fantasy and science fiction including the realms of cyberpunk and steampunk.
We would like to thank these organizations.

Tucson Steampunk Society Facebook
Founded shortly after the first Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention in 2011, the Tucson Steampunk Society has been an ever increasing and vibrant community for local Steampunkers. Since May 2012, the TSS has been organized by two madwomen, Jocelynne Weathers—better known as her alter ego Madame Askew—and Jenn “Hawkeye” Lopez—known for her array of colorful characters and fine headgear. Together with their amazing volunteer staff—Kathleen Hill, David Grasse, and Paul Martell—the ladies organize monthly social gatherings, regular workshops, and a monthly Steampunk book club. Not only does the TSS provide a rich community for Steampunk aficionados in Tucson to enjoy, but they also strive to support the growing number of local Steampunk artisans. Though the TSS hosts a wide array of events throughout the year, they are particularly renowned for Tea Duelling. The fine old sport of Tea Duelling has become a great passion among members of the TSS; cups, saucers and biscuits often make an appearance at events. It is often said of the TSS that members join for the tea but stay for the fun.
Arizona Steampunk Society Facebook / Meet up Group
Steampunk is Victorian-era science fiction come to life! There is something for everyone in Steampunk: costumes that start in the Victorian era, gadgets for detection, mechanized devices to build, weapons both big and small, art from “upcycling”, music, literature, and even history, both real and imagined! The Arizona Steampunk Society (AZSPS) is a group of like-minded individuals that meets regularly to attend events, promote the Steampunk community, educate, and support each other in our passion for all things Steampunk. AZSPS has monthly dinners as well as workshops, fashion shows, costume help, events, Tea Dueling – and more! Most of our events are no cost or are generally limited to the cost of meals, materials, etc.
AZSPS is the organization behind the Wild Wild West Steampunk Convention. (March 7-9 2014)
The Endless Facebook
We are a social group in the Phoenix Valley that hosts themed events and parties, and have lots of fun with each other. We are Endless because we accept everyone; however, you must be respectful to others to play in our playground. We provide like-minded hobbyists a safe and healthy environment to network and engage in social activities. The members of our group enjoy gaming of all types, go to festivals, conventions, parties, holiday celebrations, fetish activities, karaoke and many other forms of entertainment. We also have members-only events like camping and destination trips out of town. No one is required to do anything they’re not comfortable with, and there’s something here for everyone. Enjoy!
Arizona Corsairs
The Arizona Corsairs are a group of scallywags who mission is to incorporate the theme of pirates and piracy in all forms for our enjoyment and the enjoyment of the general public.
The Corsairs have been around for forty plus years starting out as a household in the SCA but soon ventured out on their own to SF/Fantasy conventions as well as sponsoring their own series of Corsair Cons and pirate movie openings. We went from being the SCA”s Brotherhood Of Corsairs to Corsairs Of The Desert Seas and now the Arizona Corsairs. We have grown and shrunk over the years but we have always been around to plunder your hearts and imagination.
Come to our party at Dark Con to be introduced to our latest venture: “Captain Scratches’ Adventures” a series of short films coming soon to entertain you in our usual Pirate way. Also see the video shorts that we have done so far, very entertaining.
